Care for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

We believe Children Looked After deserve the highest standards of care.

care for children with social, emotional and mental health needs

At Juventas Services we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting young people within care settings, supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in England.  We provide care to children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) Needs whilst providing a loving, safe and stable environment to thrive in.  We provide specialist care settings to meet the needs of most young people, these range from solo and dual placements to multi placement settings.

Many of the children in our care will have previously experienced trauma, a sense of rejection, neglect, abuse and exploitation. We understand that such negative life experiences will impact upon their presentation and well-being, which in turn may result in a history of challenging or risk-taking behaviours. With this in mind, we believe that our therapeutic trauma informed practice enables our young people to flourish and make better sense of their past experiences and future decisions.

Needs of our children

Children who are resident in our home may present with a range of Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), which may include:

  • High to mid-range functioning Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
  • Pathological Demand Avoidance
  • Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD)
  • Attachment Disorders
  • Social Communication Disorders.

We apply strict matching and impact assessment conditions to each potential referral to ensure that the mix of children living in the home remains safe and appropriate.
